Who We Are

The Liver Coalition® is a local organization formed in 2020 by medical specialists, transplant surgeons, patients, and caregivers to promote liver health and support individuals affected by all liver diseases. Building on nearly thirty years of community leadership, the Coalition maintains a focus on the more than 100 liver diseases to ensure no community or condition is overlooked.  Funds raised stay local to support our efforts in public education and patient programs, increasing access to community-based screening, especially in high‑risk and underserved communities, and strengthening advocacy to advance liver health equity and long‑term care.

Liver cancer is one of the fastest‑rising causes of cancer death in the US, yet most cases are preventable. By reducing viral hepatitis, alcohol‑related liver damage, and fatty liver disease, we can save lives. The Liver Coalition also supports patients with rare and pediatric liver diseases and promotes the importance of organ and tissue donation.

Our presence in Sacramento strengthens our community chairs coordination throughout California and enhances our ability to support state and federal legislation and advocacy priorities.
